Learning to ski right at the hotel – in the footsteps of Gustav Thöni

The magic carpet right at Bella Vista makes those first turns effortlessly easy – parents can watch from the hotel. Just a few metres further, the Trafoi family ski area awaits with quiet, easy-to-navigate slopes and no crowds. And when the grown-ups want more, the Sulden ski area is just 15 minutes away by car.

Winter adventures off the slopes

Sledding on the slope, building snowmen outside the door, family snowshoe and winter hikes through snow-covered forests to the Three Holy Springs – followed by hot chocolate by the crackling fireplace. In Trafoi, children still experience winter the way it should be: safe, close by and full of little adventures.

Wellness and culinary delights for the whole family

While the adults warm up in the adults-only wellness area after a day in the snow, the children enjoy exciting winter adventures with loving supervision. Culinary delights are also taken care of for completely carefree holiday days: children enjoy an all-inclusive offer with breakfast, lunch and dinner, while adults are treated to an indulgent ¾ board – consisting of breakfast, an afternoon snack and a 5-course evening menu.

Guests are welcomed by the Thöni family – in particular Petra, one of the daughters of the legendary Gustav, flanked by her husband Stephan. Staying here is also a step back in time, to the era of the Blue Avalanche skiing, whose memory lives on in the small gallery-museum next to the elegant dining room. Family-friendly, some rooms feature a whirlpool tub on the terrace overlooking the snow-covered valley. Gourmet regional cuisine, a panoramic sauna and a heated outdoor pool with views of the Ortler complete the experience. But it is the feeling of being at home that makes Bella Vista a perfect place for a holiday in the snow.

Truly a superlative experience! A welcome and care of a five-star luxury hotel – from an absolutely professional staff that clearly worked with passion. Every evening a different menu, always perfect. I have rarely encountered such quality. To have met the great champion Gustavo Thöni in person was surely the icing on the cake. The activities – snowshoe walks at night and tobogganing – were also perfect. Good! In fact, very good!

Very nice service. The place is beautiful. We enjoyed a glass of wine in the jacuzzi with a 360 degrees view of the alps. The food is good. The breakfast is really nice! It is located on the base of Stelvio pass, which is an amazing route with stunning scenery.

Everything You Want to Know

Here you will find answers to the most common questions about your winter holiday at Hotel Bella Vista – from arrival and check-in to our inclusive services and offers for families.

Rooms are available from 2:00 PM. On your departure day, we kindly ask you to vacate the room by 10:00 AM at the latest. A late check-out until the evening is available on request directly at the hotel for € 25.00 per person.

In case of cancellation up to 30 days before the start of the trip, we charge a fixed fee (deposit) of € 300.00 per booked room. From 30 to 15 days before arrival, 40% of the total booking is charged; from 14 to 8 days, 60%; and from 7 days before arrival, 70%. Cancellations must be made in writing.

A deposit (caparra) of 30% of the total travel price is required to confirm your booking. The final bill can be paid in cash in euros or by debit/credit card (EC card, Visa, Mastercard).

A tourist tax of € 3.70 per person per day is charged, with the exception of children up to 13 years of age. The tourist tax includes free use of all public transport in South Tyrol.

Dogs and other pets are accepted on request only (excluding Garden rooms, SPA suites and Classic rooms). A fee of € 20.00 per day is charged, regardless of the size of the dog. The pet quota is limited to a maximum of 5 dogs. Dogs are welcome in the restaurant with prior notice. Animals are not permitted in the wellness area.

Children up to 1 year receive an 80% discount, children aged 2 to 5 years 50%, aged 6 to 15 years 40%, and from 16 years onwards 20%. These discounts apply when sharing the parents' room or a room with 2 full-paying guests. Throughout the entire summer, one child under 18 years is included at no extra charge in the Bella Vista Nature package.

In case of allergies or food intolerances, our trained kitchen team will prepare a menu tailored to your needs. Please inform us before your arrival. We are happy to prepare gluten-free dishes for you. Please note, however, that preparation takes place in our regular kitchen, where gluten-containing foods are also processed. Please note that we are not a certified allergy-friendly hotel.
